Hi, I'm Florence

Two paths inward. One steady guide.

I am, and have always been, an awakener.
To myself. To others. Through story, presence, and the quiet power of reflection.

Over the last three decades, my path has held many roles – lawyer, educator, therapist, writer. But at the heart of it all is a devotion to the inner life.

Today, my work moves between two distinct, but deeply connected spaces:

One is psychotherapy, structured, clinical, and grounded in evidence-based practice.

The other is The Inner Chapter, a poetic, reflective membership for those seeking gentler self-inquiry.

One side of me holds depth with structure. The other holds meaning with softness.

Both are honest. Both are intentional.

And both are different ways I journey with people, as they come home to themselves.

the therapy room

For those seeking individual therapy support to move beyond coping.

I work with individuals navigating emotional pain, identity questions, burnout, or transition, especially those who feel the pressure to “keep it together” but are quietly unravelling underneath.

This is therapy that goes deep: clinically grounded, relational, and centred on your values, culture, and story.

the inner chapter

For those craving gentle self-led growth, reflection, and reconnection.

The Inner Chapter is a soulful membership rooted in poetry, story, and journaling, a quiet space for emotional clarity and self-awareness outside the structure of therapy.

It’s ideal for thoughtful, introspective people who want to explore their inner world in a way that’s slow, creative, and deeply nourishing.

Why both?

→ Because healing and growth don’t look the same in every season.

→ Some chapters call for clinical depth and skilled guidance.

Others call for reflection and a gentle guide to return to self.

I offer both, because we all need different kinds of spaces at different times.

My Approach & Background

Grounded in depth. Guided by story. Rooted in integrity.

My work blends clinical training with human insight — and a deep respect for the many forces that shape who we are.

As a registered psychotherapist and certified trauma practitioner, my practice is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and culturally responsive. I draw from:

  • Narrative Therapy – reworking the stories that shape identity
  • Existential Therapy – exploring meaning, uncertainty, and transition
  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) – supporting values-led action
  • Relational and Cultural Lenses – honouring lived experience, identity, and context

I bring not only professional knowledge, but also lived experience — as a migrant, a woman of colour, a former dispute resolution lawyer, and someone who has walked through change with both humility and hope.

What I believe

Struggle is human, not a flaw to fix.

We are shaped by story and can reauthor what no longer fits.

Culture and identity are central to healing.

It’s the relationship that heals, not the technique.

Awareness creates choice and choice creates change.

What I Stand For:

These values guide every space I hold — in therapy, in writing, in community.

  • Integrity: Clear ethics. Thoughtful boundaries. Honest presence.
  • Depth: No quick fixes, no performance. Just space for what’s real.
  • Compassion: Holding pain without judgement. Meeting people where they are.
  • Cultural Intelligence: Honouring identity, complexity, and lived experience.
  • Sustainability: Supporting growth that continues long after we part ways.
  • Humanity: You are not a problem to solve. You are a person to be seen.

Let’s begin, wherever you are, and in whatever way you need.
